Highlights

Split and Dubrovnik are two of the top cities to visit in Croatia, both of which are not-to-be-missed, although they each have their own charms. Split is bigger, the country’s second-largest city famous for Diocletian’s Palace, a vast complex that dates back to the early 3rd century, home to some of the most well-preserved Roman architecture in the world. It also provides a more authentic side of local life, with a fabulous market where residents and chefs often purchase their ingredients for preparing delicious meals. Dubrovnik is renowned for its walled historic center, a spectacular compact area with many gothic- and Renaissance-style buildings you might have discovered while watching the hit series “Game of Thrones” where it served as King’s Landing. This incredible 7-night tour will bring you to both, with multiple private guided tours included. Plus, you’ll enjoy a unique oyster-tasting experience and the opportunity to explore neighboring Montenegro on a day trip.

It all begins with your arrival at Split International Airport where you’ll be met with a warm welcome from our driver who will provide a transfer to your hotel, just a two-minute stroll from Diocletian’s Palace. You’ll explore it on a tour tomorrow, but you might want a preview by walking the ancient streets on your own after checking in. Many of the centuries-old buildings now serve as independent shops, galleries, boutiques, cafes, wine bars, and restaurants, providing plenty to explore. If you want to stretch your legs a bit more, climb to the top of nearby Marjan Hill for a fabulous bird’s-eye view of the city.

Returning to Split, take a walking tour of the historic Old Town, including Diocletian’s Palace with its impressive Roman architecture. You’ll enjoy free time to sample the mouthwatering cuisine in one of the local eateries and shop for souvenirs. Of course, with your hotel here, you can easily continue your explorations, perhaps a stroll along the Riva seaside promenade.
