Croatia Travel Specialist

Born in Zambia, raised in Zimbabwe, now residing in Surrey, UK. I came to England to study, graduated and started my career in the travel industry. I have been blessed with having the opportunity to visit many countries through this type of work.

I am a keen runner and have run countless 10kms and half marathons and have taken the plunge to run 2 full marathons which have been tough but enjoyable. I remember laughing at friends who ran so far and thought why, really – why? They now laugh at me as l have been bitten by the running bug and have become passionate about how the roads and hills will not conquer me, but l will conquer them! I ran the London Marathon with a time of 3hrs 57mins and hope to beat that time in my next race!

Muno's Expert Croatia Advice

  • As a meat/seafood lover, you have to try “Peka” which is a roast meal of either meat or seafood with potatoes and assorted veggies. Roasting peka style uses embers and hot ashes from above, and the heat from the hearth from below. This then produces incredibly soft, moist and aromatic food. This is because the ingredients stay under the lid for about 2-2.5 hours. And during this time, they both steam and roast – absolutely amazing!
  • While many Croatians speak English, especially in touristy areas, learning a few words of the local language can go a long way in building rapport and showing respect for the culture. Simple phrases like “Dobar dan” (Good day), “Hvala” (Thank you), and “Molim” (Please) are easy to learn and appreciated by locals. It’s a small gesture that can make a big difference in your interactions.
