Croatia’s Weather & Climate
Croatia has two climates, as you may well expect – one along the coastline, and one for the interior of the country. If you’re visiting, here’s what to expect for climate and weather in Croatia!
The Dalmatian Coast has a typically Mediterranean climate consisting of hot, dry, sunny weather during summer, and relatively mild – though sometimes wet – weather in winter.
The interior of Croatia has a continental climate which means winters can be pretty cold and snow is very likely – Summers, on the other hand, can very often be sweltering.
Air-conditioning is reasonably common in Croatia these days. Wherever you are during summer, it is more than likely that your accommodation (hotel or private) will have it, providing you with a bit more comfort in summer. Air-con is also pretty common in cafes, restaurants, and bars. All of our ships have Air-conditioning, which can be individually controlled in the cabins.
Average sea temperatures
No matter where you go, the sea is sure to entice you for a swim. Earlier in the season, it will probably be a bit too chilly to enjoy, but by July when the weather has really warmed up the sea temperatures will begin to climb too, and it can make for an ideal time to hop in and cool off. It continues to warm through August, with September often ideal for swimming with tourist crowds starting to diminish and the water still quite pleasant.
