Maja Efendić
Croatia Travel Coordinator
I am from the beautiful town of Split, Croatia where I lived almost all my life. I spent five enriching years in Zadar where I completed a double major in Russian and English Language at Zadar University. Currently, I work as a Travel Coordinator at Unforgettable Travel. This role allows me to channel my love for travel into creating unforgettable experiences for others.
Besides that, you can find me hiking, exploring and enjoying nature around Split. Split is home to incredible hiking rails and viewpoints, and for someone who is adventurous and loves amazing viewpoints, this is a perfect way to fulfill that. My passion for travel has led me on numerous adventures. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting charming Switzerland, discovering stunning Turkey, exploring the diverse landscapes of Italy, experiencing the bustling city life of Dubai and immersing myself in the captivating history of Egypt.

Maja's Travel Highlights

What Are Your Favorite Places to Visit in Croatia?
That has to be, without a shadow of doubt – the island of Vis. Vis has a remarkable history, stunning views, countless pristine beaches, delicious food and wine. Because of its military past, the island remained hidden until 1989. This secrecy and interesting military past is what makes Vis so unique. On Vis, you can escape the crowds and indulge yourself in its natural beauty and not to forget a visit to nearby Blue Cave which leaves you speechless.

What's Your Most Memorable Trip?
One of my most cherished travel memories remains the graduation gift from my sister – a mesmerizing journey to Egypt. Riding camels through the Sahara Desert, visiting the Pyramids of Giza, entering the Great Pyramid and reaching the King’s Chamber. Cairo’s bustling streets and breathtaking sites were definitely second to none.

Maja's Top Tips
- Croatians are known for their love of coffee – so find yourself a cafe bar with an amazing view and enjoy your cup of coffee.
- Don’t forget the National Parks. The National Parks such as Mljet, Plitvice Lakes, and Kornati are a must-see when visiting Croatia.
- While public transport is good in Croatia, renting a car to get around Croatia and to access all the spots and hidden gems on your own schedule would be a good idea.
- If you’re a wine lover, don’t miss wine tasting. Some of the best wineries are located close to some of the best beaches so you get to enjoy both beautiful coastline and some amazing wine.
