This morning, the ship sets sail for Trogir, anchoring in a tranquil bay along the way for your first swim stop. Once in Trogir’s harbor, you can choose from two tours: stay here and explore the UNESCO-listed Old Town with our local guide, wandering the narrow streets to admire the well-preserved Romanesque-Gothic architecture. Or, join those who want to tour Split’s Old Town by hopping on the bus to the ancient city. A local guide will reveal intriguing highlights like Diocletian’s Palace with its well-preserved Roman buildings, including the 4th-century St. Dominus Cathedral. Dinner can be enjoyed independently in Trogir or Split.

Continue cruising to the island furthest from Croatia’s mainland: Vis. You’ll enjoy a swim stop en route before experiencing what’s often referred to as “the Mediterranean as it once was.” Having remained largely undeveloped from tourism due to its isolated location and use as a strategic military base for 40 years, when visitors were banned, it offers a tranquil setting for relaxing on a picturesque beach and exploring charming streets. You’ll have leisure time to explore on your own, perhaps visiting the archaeological museum before sunset cocktails on the rooftop at Fort George or dining on local fare in a waterfront cafe.

Meals Included:
Breakfast & Lunch

Day 4 Blue Cave & Hvar

Guided tour of Blue Cave (Subject to weather conditions)
Bisevo, Croatia - August 20, 2012: Tourists in inflatable boats inside the Blue cave, famous tourist attraction.
Tomic-Winery

With Bisevo Island just a short distance from Vis, the ship departs early for the optional Blue Cave tour. If conditions are right, you’ll be able to go inside in a small boat to see the cave’s interior illuminated in a blue glow, with sunlight entering through a crack in the roof and reflecting off the white limestone bottom. (Please note that entry to the Blue Cave is subject to weather and sea conditions and therefore the entry fee of EUR30pp is payable on the day). A swim stop will be enjoyed in one of the Pakleni archipelago’s hidden bays before reaching Hvar. You’ll visit a popular family winery for tasting and then sail to Hvar Town’s harbor, enjoying leisure time to sample its renowned restaurants and trendy nightlife.

Your next destination, Korcula, has a strong connection to famous explorer Marco Polo, with forested landscapes, vineyard-covered hills, and beautiful beaches. After an extended swim stop, the ship anchors outside the walled Old Town of Korcula, where you’ll disembark for a walking tour with a local guide. Stepping through an imposing gate into the narrow streets, laid out in the shape of a fishbone, your guide will explain why and show you the highlights. Admire many Venetian buildings such as the Loggia, grand palaces, and St. Mark’s Cathedral with free time to explore on your own and dine, perhaps at a traditional waterfront taverna.

Continue cruising to lush Mljet Island, with its national park covering nearly a third. You’ll enjoy a short walk led by your Cruise Director to visit its brilliantly colored saltwater lakes, the larger one home to a tiny islet topped by a 12th-century Benedictine abbey. After reboarding the ship, you’ll cruise to the fishing village of Slano on the Peljesac Peninsula, renowned for its wine and shellfish. From here, you’ll head to Mali Ston, where you’ll take a small boat into the estuary for an especially fresh tasting of its famous oysters right from the water. This evening, enjoy the Captain’s Dinner on board.
