DAY 1: Opatija – Rab (L, T)
Begin your magical adventure in the picturesque town of Opatija, renowned for its timeless elegance and aristocratic charms. Board your luxurious cruising ship and get ready experience the ‘island of love.’ Departing at 1 p.m., we’ll sail to Rab to explore its Old Town on a guided tour. You’ll be led through the streets where you can marvel at medieval walls, Romanesque church towers, opulent palaces and atmospheric squares. Sampling the special cake, ‘Rab cake,’ is on order too. Native to the island, legend tells that local nuns made it for a visiting pope, though the recipe has remained one of Rab’s best-kept secrets.
DAY 2: Rab – Zadar (B, L, T)
Continuing our journey, we’ll cruise on to Zadar, stopping along the way to enjoy a refreshing dip of the shores of Pag island. Upon our arrival you’ll be able to experience the country’s oldest university town with a rich history that can be seen in its imposing city walls, over 30 churches, and a 1st-century Roman Forum on a guided walking tour. You’ll also get to see one of its more recent attractions, the popular art installation known as the Sea Organ to listen to the mystical tones of nature’s own orchestra, using the waves and an underwater system of whistles and pipes to create music. Afterward, look forward to a sample of Zadar’s signature cherry Maraschino liqueur.
Day 3: Zadar – Sibenik (Krka National Park) (B,L D)
Sailing from Zadar, today brings one of the highlights of this trip: Krka National Park, home to 17 waterfalls, including Skradinski Buk, a series of cascades with its highest single drop nearly 40 feet high and an overall height of 80 feet. A guided tour will bring you along the meandering paths for a closeup look. Afterward, enjoy a traditional Croatian meal followed by the opportunity to walk it off in the thousand-year-old town of Sibenik. Wander through the enticing streets to discover places like the UNESCO-listed Cathedral of St. James and other impressive historic buildings along with unique shops and boutiques. Return to the ship for the captain’s dinner with live entertainment.
DAY 4: Sibenik – Split (B, L)
This morning we’ll journey to Split where you’re sure to be captivated by its most famous attraction, the 4th-century Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace which covers nearly half of its historic center. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s filled with Gothic palaces and Roman temples that you’ll be able to see firsthand on a guided tour. As evening draws closer, walk along the elegant seaside Riva promenade with its shady palms, enjoying people watching and a truly magical atmosphere.
DAY 5: Split – Hvar (B, L, T)
Today brings plenty of glitz and glamor as we cruise to the island known for its jet-setting crowd, its lavender and plentiful sunshine: Hvar. Along with way you’ll be able to gaze out at Croatia’s most photographed beach, Zlatni Rat and stop in one of the hidden coves for a swim. On arrival in Hvar, enjoy a short orientation tour of the Old Town before setting off for wine tasting at one of Croatia’s best family wineries. Sample a selection of local wines and snacks before continuing your tour to the impressive Spanjola Fortress overlooking the town. Enjoy a tour of the fortress and its magnificent views over Hvar and its idyllic islands before returning to Hvar Town. Spend your evening sampling the town’s hip cafes, bars and outstanding restaurants.
DAY 6: Hvar – Korcula (B, L, D)
A favorite island with many visitors, Korcula is next on our agenda. Covered with dense pine forests, early Greek settlers named it Black Corcyra as the thick expanse of trees look black from a distance. Famous as the purported birthplace of world explorer Marco Polo, it also offers an alluring fortified Old Town, often referred to as a “mini Dubrovnik,” sort of a compact version of medieval city with its stone ramparts and towers. An expert guide will lead you through the streets that were designed in a fish bone pattern while revealing the reason they were made that way. Afterward, save room for your evening meal, which is a traditional Croatian village dinner party hosted by a warm and welcoming family with lots of traditional food and wine.
DAY 7: Dubrovnik (B, L)
Last but certainly not least, this 7-night island-hopping adventure ends in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik, once described by writer George Bernard as “heaven on earth.” View it from the outside as we sail along the ancient city walls and then walk the marble streets on a guided tour that will bring you to many impressive buildings that date back to the old Dubrovnik Republic. A stroll atop those medieval walls is on the itinerary too, providing a panoramic view of the city, sea and Elaphiti Islands.
