Itinerary

Split (Arrival, hotel transfer & guided tour of Split)
Begin your exciting European adventure in Croatia’s second largest city, Split. The capital of the Dalmatia region boasts a vast array of historic and cultural delights. Join our private guided afternoon tour of the Old Town and the iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site of Diocletian’s Palace. The former retirement home of a Roman Emperor, the 4th century palatial structure is more of a maze-like complex than a palace and is one of the best-preserved Roman palaces in the world. Enjoy the afternoon and evening at your leisure. Walk along the Riva promenade encircling the harbour, and sample delicious local cuisine. Overnight in Split.

Split (Private Tour to Krka National Park & Trogir)
After an early breakfast you’re off with our private guide for a tour of one of Croatia’s spectacular national parks, the pristine Krka National Park. With the Krka River running through this national park, there are a multitude of beautiful waterfalls with scenic walks through the forest to view each of them. Having spent the morning enjoying beautiful nature, your next destination is one of the most sought after UNESCO listed Old Towns in Dalmatia, Trogir. Enjoy a guided afternoon tour of this charming UNESCO-listed medieval town that is situated on a small island connected by bridge to both the mainland and Čiovo Island.

Split (Day of leisure)
Enjoy a day at leisure in the breathtaking city of ancient and modern contrasts. Explore the expansive Diocletian’s Palace in more detail, from the underground cellars to the top of the 7th century St Domnius Cathedral’s bell tower. From the tower, enjoy a spectacular 360-degree panoramic view of the city and nearby islands.
Alternatively, join our small group culinary cooking class, where our gourmet guide takes you through the Green Market in Split to buy your ingredients and then teaches you have to cook traditional Dalmatian dishes.

Hvar (Transfer to Hvar. Private afternoon tour of old town)
South of Split is the beautiful island of Hvar. The cosmopolitan upscale resort destination is the sunniest spot in Croatia, and features gleaming yachts moored in the harbour and elegant hotels and restaurants dotted all over the town. Isolated coves, beautiful beaches, craggy peaks, lush vineyards and lavender fields abound in the balmy Mediterranean haven. Join our private guided tour of the Old Town and learn about the local history as you explore the plethora of historic landmarks.

Hvar (Speed boat trip to Blue Cave, Vis & Pakleni Islands)
Today’s highlight is a boat trip to the majestic Blue Cave (Blue Grotto) and nearby caves. The Blue Cave is a natural phenomenon that displays the white cave interior bathed in an ethereal blue light. Take a cooling dip at Stiniva Cove or swim in the refreshing emerald waters of Green Cave and Monk Seal Cave. Snorkel in the crystal-clear waters and jump off the cliffs in the hidden coves. The charming fishing town of Komiža offers plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind whilst enjoying the beachfront views.

Hvar (Day of leisure)
Enjoy a free day at leisure. The sun loungers at the popular Bonj les Bains Beach Club provide a great sunbathing and relaxing option. Nearby there are many pristine beaches that offer an idyllic retreat. Delve into Hvar’s rich history by exploring the 13th century walls that surround the port town, its hilltop fortress and elegant main square.
If you’re feeling a little more active, join our optional small group Jeep Safari Tour for a day exploring the island’s picturesque sites. Visit the long-forgotten villages that were abandoned when the locals decided to migrate to the coast in the 1950s.

Dubrovnik (Private transfer to Dubrovnik. Private guided city tour)
A journey of 140 miles takes you southeast to the city of Dubrovnik. The historic waterfront metropolis is often described as one of Europe’s most beautiful UNESCO-listed cities. Our guided tour explores the charming Old Town that was severely damaged during Croatia’s War of Independence in the 1990s but has been beautifully restored to its former glory. Fans of the popular TV series Game of Thrones will enjoy seeing the filming locations of the fantasy drama. Admire the imposing medieval architecture that lines the streets paved with local marble, and explore the churches, palaces and forts encircled by defensive walls.

Dubrovnik (Private tour of Montenegro)
On today’s full-day tour we cross the border into Montenegro to explore Croatia’s up-and-coming neighbour. Visit the UNESCO-listed city of Kotor and its beautiful Bay. Established by the Romans, the city was developed between the 12th and 14th centuries and is surrounded by medieval walls that extend two miles to St Ivan’s Fortress. Reserve your energy for climbing the steep stone steps and visit its historic chapel. You can rest and relax during the boat ride from the baroque town of Perast to one of tiny twin offshore islands to see the delightful Church of Our Lady of the Rocks. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik (Day of leisure)
On your penultimate day in Croatia, enjoy the day further exploring Dubrovnik at your leisure.
Board the local ferry to nearby Lokrum Island and visit the beautiful nature reserve that is home to a 12th century monastery and endemic flora and fauna. In the monastic grounds don’t be surprised to spot regal peacocks or playful bunnies. The island’s unspoiled beaches are the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing dip in the crystalline blue Adriatic waters.
Wine lovers may prefer to join our wine expert on a small group, half-day wine tasting tour, across the border in the neighbouring country of Bosnia.
